"It
should be known that the secret principles
of Goju exist within the kata."
Sensei Chojun Miyagi
The true meaning of and spirit of Karate-doh are found in the Kata and only through continuous practice of the Kata will we be open to understanding them.
The true meaning and spirit of karate are imbedded in the kata and only by the practice of kata can we come to understand them.
"Kata is Karate-doh and Karate-doh is
Kata"
Izukigawa Kanki Hanshi
In karate there is no first attack.
Do not be struck by others. Do not strike others. The principle is the peace without incident. |

* The mind is one with heaven and earth.
* The circulatory rhythm of the body is similar to the cycle of the sun and the moon.
* The way of inhaling and exhaling is hardness and softness.
* Act in accordance with time and change.
* Techniques will occur in the absence of conscious thought.
* The feet must advance and retreat, separate and meet.
* The eyes do not miss even the slightest change.
* The ears listen well in all directions.

"You must, above all, learn the art of true and real patience. Follow the WAY of patience to the seventh power and never be in a hurry to learn. Always think first and avoid acting rashly. Never harm anyone or let yourself be harmed."
Five Secrets of Japanese Goju

Have a clever mind.
Master the basics.
Budo vs. Bujitsu by Gogen Yamaguchi
"Budo is concerned with an Individuals search for somthing, whereas the bujutsu is cocerned with the application of the art or the technique. Budo is the way, where as the bujutsu refers to the technique. Through the practice of bujutsu, the way of budo can be followed. The literal translation of the word Budo is 'not to use spear' which means 'not to fight' or 'stop fighting'.The way of budo is not to be concerned with winning... winning, sport and the competitive spirit are not the way to understand budo. It is rare to come across a real artist who practices budo, I doubt if many really exist."

"Compasion is the practical manifestation of wisdom"
"Think what you do not think"
"...og den, der ikke har kunnet frigøre sig selv for sine ønsker, kun opdager atomernes enkelte dele."
"Nature nourishes all things, neglects none, and does not claim credit when succesful. A man who works hard without complaint is at one with natures way."
A flower blooms alone
destined to fall alone
and never return to it´s branch.
At every stage it embodies life
the voice of the flower we softly hear
the faith of the flower we gently feel
The joy of eternal life shines within the silent
blossom without regret
"Der findes ingen modsætninger, kun parvise udtryk for ubalance hos iagttageren"
Chung-Tse
"Der findes hverken godt eller dårligt, men tanken gør dem til det"
Shakespeare
"Truth is without foundation, the root of illusion is empty."
"In abandoning having and not having, the non-empty becomes empty."
When a drop of water falls in the ocean,
When a speck of dust falls on the ground,
At that moment the drop of water is no longer a drop of water,
lt become the ocean,
And the speck of dust is no longer a speck of dust
It becomes the entire earth.
The wise are not learned; the learned are not wise
A well-frog cannot imagine the ocean, nor can a summer insect conceive of ice. How then can a scholar understand the Tao? He is restricted by his own learning.

Gautama Buddha, 5. århundrede før vor tid.
